Sarong Tie Dress

With this week's Make This Look, I feel like I'm cheating just a little. styleARC patterns are up-to-the-minute and designed to reflect the current trends but when I saw the Country Road dress I couldn't resist making the connection. styleARC patterns have excellent reviews and from my experience (I have a styleARC pattern currently on the sewing WIP list), their customer service and fit is excellent. They do come in one size so measure carefully but I found that being drawn onto a quality paper it was much easier to do my required alterations (which I'd have to do with any pattern to adjust to fit), much easier and quicker. The other excellent feature of styleARC is that they can provide their patterns in up to size 30.

In my wardrobe I have almost that exact dress, in a similar colour blue silk to the silk at the bottom of my post. It has a flared skirt like the black one and is much nicer than the country road one.
It has been lurking in my wardrobe since I bought it in about 1993/4... I love it but it doesn't suit me (or fit me) anymore, but it was the most expensive thing I had ever bought and I still can't bring myself to part with it.
Bec I seem to remember this sort of style from the past too. I don't think it will make it into my wardrobe this time round either though. I know what you mean about parting with clothes but I'm getting better - if doesn't fit or I don't wear it there is no point in keeping it I suppose Be ruthless! (PS Now is probably a good time to sell it off on ebay).
