Blogtoberfest #16 Operation Christmas Child

I'm trying to pull together at least one shoebox to send for Operation Christmas Child.

I had this tee in the sewing stash so traced off an Ottobre applique for it last weekend. This shoebox will be for a three year old boy. Sorry it's a bit blurry...

I can't believe it! But I just love having our house decorated. This photo is from a couple of years ago, we have even more now.

Blogtoberfest #12 A working day

It was wet and rainy (still) but I had to head off to work. Because it was a bit gloomy, I wore my new dress which I purchased from Ozsale at the amazing price of $25 plus postage. They often have designer clothes on there all at discount prices as well as jewelery, handbags, kid's clothing, men's clothing, homewares. I've also purchased clothing for Kaiden from the site before but the dress was my first venture into women's wear. I was a bit worried about the fit and if the style would suit but you can return goods for a store credit if it isn't right and you keep the tags on.
If you would like to check it out, please use this link..
And if you don't buy today, but want to down the track, please come back and use this link as I get $10 for every friend who go do some shopping!!
(sorry photo of the dress isn't all that good - it is hard when you have a baby stuck to your hip)
For extra cheer I add a pink bag (not from ozsale but from my cupboard) />

Blogtoberfest #9 Well yesterday...

I did cook dinner early. I made lentil bolognese using the DreamPot which was a present from Brett's parents. I'm still experimenting with using it for cooking and I really should have followed the recipe book which says to soak the lentils overnight. Instead the lentils were still a little bit chewy but it was much better the beef stroganoff Brett made the other night which needed alot more stewing. Luckily we are getting some practice in before we take it away for camp cooking. Next I might try rice custard.

Oh boy so tired yesterday but today is a new day and after a sleep I'm feeling a little refreshed. In the Ravelry swap a couple of months ago I received a couple of balls of Peaches and Cream yarn which is excellent for wash clothes. So I knitted up these couple to put away for Christmas gifts - maybe for K's daycare carers.

Our Funky Friends Feature!!

Funky Friends had a facebook competition where by uploading a photo of your finished friend you would go into the draw to win $100 worth of patterns and kits. While we weren't the lucky winner, the boys did end up featuring on their blog with the snake (later rehomed as a birthday present and now lives with Chris) and Mitch the Monkey (later rehomed as a swap item and now resides with Jack). Can you tell that I'm excited just by that? There are lots of Funky Friends to choose from and if you want to see what the different ones are like sewn up and what you can do with them, check out their Facebook gallery. Pauline from Funky Friends will also be at the Craft Show in Brisbane which is on towards the end of October so you can check the patterns out IRL.
